Individuals that are interested in becoming ACDS instructors must first complete an application and submit along with all required documentations by April 1 each year. Those applications will be reviewed and approved by the ACDS Statewide Coordinator and the ACDS State Executive Council. All approved applicants will receive notification of their approval into the ACDS Instructor Academy. Academies are offered at various locations across the state, typically during June and July each year. It is up to the approved candidate to select an academy location that is most convenient for him or her. At the academy participants will learn about ACDS policies and procedures and how to utilize and facilitate the ACDS Curriculum.
