The ACDS Instructor’s Academy is a mandatory training for individuals wanting to become ACDS instructors. Once an application has been submitted to the ACDS program and approved by the State Executive Committee the candidate must attend all three days of the academy. The academy takes place each June. The next Instructor’s Academy will be held June 13 – 15, 2017 - Choices Resource and Referral and June 21 – 23, 2017 - Mountain Heart South. We encourage all interested participants to submit their application. The application can be found under the Instructor Academy Forms tab, the application is form 1. ACDS needs qualified instructors throughout the state to meet the demand for classes.

During the week of the academy participants will learn more detailed information pertaining to the ACDS program and the curriculum. Instructors will be taught how to work with adult learners and how to use the ACDS curriculum and reference manual. Participants will be given opportunities to work in small groups and to learn from each other’s experience. Only those candidates that successfully complete the academy and all assignments will be contracted with to teach the ACDS classes. The ACDS curriculum is copyrighted and may only be used by currently contracting instructors.
